7 p.m., Thursday, March 9
One of the most important practices for any turner, whether you’re a beginner or have years of experience, is to keep your turning tools sharp. A dull gouge, scraper, or parting tool makes turning a struggle and leaves a finish that requires endless sanding to clean up. On the other hand, sharp tools make turning fun, and reduces the time spent sanding. This demo will show the basics of sharpening, along with snowing some of the jigs and fixtures you can use to make sharpening easier. Bring a friend, and bring something for Show and Tell. We’d love to see what you’ve been working on!
Our meeting will be at “In the Chips” located at 303 21st Street North in Moorhead, just north of Burger King and the Coca-Cola Plant. Plenty of parking on the North side and on the street. As in the past, we’ll start gathering at about 6:30 p.m. to socialize, and the formal meeting begins at 7 p.m.
